A History of New York in 50 Objects

Objects and still lifes can tell a story all their own. The New York Times helped prove this by summing up the history of New York in 50 objects. Among our favorites: the Greek coffee cup, Tonight Show audio track, and the Boom Box. This concept is based on a BBC radio series from the British Museum, “A History of the World in 100 Objects”. While the NYT‘s version may be slightly less ambitious, it is certainly no less interesting.

The only thing we would add: a recording of the Law & Order  “dun-dun”. Press the button below to hear it. Then, press it again for your friends. Repeatedly.
Ok. That’s enough.
