It was 101 years ago today that Machu Picchu was discovered in Peru. Although it was well-known to the locals of the area, this lost Incan city was unknown to the outside world.

Built in the 1400′s, Machu Picchu existed as a sort of summer home for Incan leaders. With its breathtaking views and historical appeal, it has become Peru’s top tourist attraction.

As a result, it is a hotspot for photographers, and the Glow library has its fair share of great Machu Picchu pics. See for yourself!

What you may not know: When Machu Picchu was discovered, it was overgrown with plants and was not entirely visible. Also, a bunch of llamas live there, which is a bonus.
