With the upcoming Easter holiday in mind, a quick look into the Glow Images archives revealed a set of interesting images from the ImageZoo collection. This set features vintage Easter cards done in a wonderfully Victorian/19th century style, most having a distinct and simplistic charm about them.
Others have a somewhat strange (but equally charming) anthropomorphic style, with rabbits in dresses, ducklings in sunhats, and baby chicks in top-hats. You may find them reminiscent of John Tenniel’s imaginative illustrations, which accompany Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland.
Some of the cards also include interesting terminology and greetings that have fallen off over the years, such as “Eastertide” and “Merry Easter”. To see more, visit our Vintage Easter Cards gallery.
